Welcome!

Hi, friends!
Welcome to my quaint virtual dominion. Here, you’ll find all manner of things I write, including comic books, short fiction, and articles about film and TV. You’ll also find silly quizzes and musings that I hope will clue you in to what I’m about.
I suppose I should start by introducing myself. First and foremost, I’m a writer. I tell stories because I feel I was born to do so, and because no other path has been able to fulfill me. I was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where the locals call its large, river-hugging hill “Turkey Mountain” and the BBQ isn’t quite as slide-off-the-bone good as residents claim.
I’d like to say growing up in Tulsa had some sort of bearing on my writing, and it probably has, but I don’t consider it a prominent influence. My main source of inspiration is my autism, which impacts every area of my life and will never go away.
I was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome (now formally diagnosed as mild autism) when I was seven. Speech came eagerly and easily to me, but other difficulties — fine motor issues, repetitive behaviors, and issues with emotional regulation — set off enough alarms for my parents to consult a psychologist.
I adore film, comics, literature and TV, so much so that I’ve come to trust these mediums with my heart, my fears, my dreams, my pain, all of it. It took me a while to admit this, but I tell the page more than I’ll ever be able to tell people. Perhaps that’s sad. Perhaps it’s freeing. All I know is that it’s how I lay bare who I am, and I hope you get something out of this space.
Anyway, thanks for being here. Don’t hesitate to reach out!
More soon,
Hayden
